New England Parkour Spotlight
Every few months, we focus on a member who has contributed a great deal to
our community. The purpose of this is to give members recognition for their
accomplishments, and to inspire others to help the community.

Jackie got into parkour after watching Jump London. The co ncept
blew her mind, and she immediately started researching it online. After
finding New England Parkour, she started contributing to the community with
thoughtful posts and winning picture of the month entries such as this (right).
Another contribution to the community at large was Jackie's fantastic article
that was featured in The Daily Collegian. The article which was published
in February 2007 stands among the best parkour pieces written to date.
Locally,
Jackie hosts jams at UMass Amherst as seen in video 1 above. She is
currently working on a registered student organization at UMass so that traceurs
at the school can have funding and equipment for training. By continuing
to grow the Amherst scene, Jackie hopes to make it a hub for Western Mass as
Boston is for the East. Getting new people into the discipline is one of
her favorite aspects of parkour. It is clear that she understands the
philosophy of usefulness and helpfulness when she says, "The more you teach, the
more you learn yourself."
Jackie
sees herself continuing to practice parkour for a long, long time. She
thinks that "it makes you confident and surefooted, like you can handle most
emergency situations." Also that "it motivates you to get fit and
healthy." She sees parkour as "a return to the roots of human ability,
something too many of us have lost touch with over the course of history."
We are very glad to have HaiWolfe as part of our community. Keep up the
great work Jackie!
